The deliberate, methodical person is logical if nothing else. He likes to reason things out his way. He doesn't lack confidence on the contrary he is slow and deliberate. He gives the appearance of plodding along but everything he does is measured. This individual wants to reason out all things connected with this purchase himself. Don't be fooled by his quiet manner and exterior appearance. He is totally in control. He is not an egotist nor is he condescending.
How Do We Sell Him:
First and foremost adapt to his pace, don't rush him. Give him the impression that you are as deliberate as he is, people feel comfortable with people that mirror them.
Make sure you are accurate in all your statements. A mistake with him and he will usually uncover it. All facts and reasons must be explained in detail. He will make up his own mind in his own way. This is critical for anyone trying to sell this individual to understand. This cannot be emphasized too strongly.
The salesperson who is patient, deliberate and delivers facts that are on target is the salesperson who will sell “The deliberate, methodical prospect.”
