As a salesperson one of the first things to be aware of is what to place emphasis on in order to succeed. One of the first things to do is pay attention to and place emphasis on time. Place the right value on your working time and be aware of that value.
Early on I set my sights on higher earnings and the things I had to do to reach that goal. I learned quickly that to become successful in selling I had to lay out a plan and try to work it and constantly modify it and change it as circumstances dictated.
I reviewed my current customers and dedicated myself to serving them and letting them know that I was there to help and support them in anyway possible.
Sell bigger buyers whenever possible. It takes no more ability to sell a large volume account than a small one.
I needed to have a time value approach while planning my schedule.
I made a concerted effort to try to pick up some new customers or leads each day. I made it my business to try to get some new ideas, techniques, hints, anything that would broaden me as a salesperson.
Remember if you stop searching or learning you limit yourself. I always felt that no matter how many lectures I attended, or no matter whatever the situation, as long as I took something positive away I was benefiting.
Selling has a lot of variable situations and circumstances connected with it. Anything that can help you move towards a sale is important. The thing is you never know what you need to know and when you need to know it, so take in everything you can and try to apply it.
