If your confidence is wanting and your sales are lagging it is probably time to to analyze your failures so that you can isolate the causes and attempt to remove them.
This practice makes for better selling and it helps you to find and clarify your errors and more importantly it saves you from deluding yourself and repeating the same mistakes.
Devote some time each night and try to improve yourself by using failure analysis.
Ask yourself: Why did I fail to make a particular sale?
What if anything did I do wrong?
Under similar circumstances how can I do better in the future? Write down your observations and analyze them. Remember writing something down brings your attention to it. Keep a record of your shortcomings and failures. After a period of time and analysis you should be able to recognize the weaknesses that keep popping up frequently and be able to concentrate on on them and be able to rectify them.
Perhaps it is your preparation,or your presentation. It could be any number of things. Before you retreat into somberness or go in every direction without a plan, learn to isolate your failures so you can get a handle on them and begin to deal with them.
Everything and anything can be dealt with. Even if you are not successful all the time in dealing with every eventuality, you must first have a starting point, and this is done through analysis. Once you recognize a problem you are well on your way to a possible solution.
Not every problem can be solved, but every problem can be recognized and dealt with to the best of your abilities.
